BILE DUCT CANCER
WHAT IS bile duct cancer ?
Bile duct cancer is a malignant tumor
derived from bile duct that is outside the liver , liver area to the bottom

WHAT CAUSES cholangiocarcinoma ?
The cause of this cancer is not clear ,
however , chronic inflammation , bladder stones or gall bladder , cystic duct

1 . Chronic biliary inflammation : chronic
biliary inflammation could be one of the causes of cholangiocarcinoma .
2 . Stones in the bladder / gall :
Approximately 20-57 % of cholangiocarcinoma patients never was a stone in the

occurrence of cholangiocarcinoma .
3 . Disorder cystic duct bile : This
condition causes the junction of the bile duct , and this could be one cause of
cancer cholangiocarcinoma .
4 . Liver fluke : This condition is most
commonly seen in the region of Southeast Asia
, mostly due to the consumption of raw fish infected with liver fluke . Liver
fluke is usually attacks the area of the bile ducts , gallbladder, etc. . It

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS bile duct cancer ?
1 . Jaundice ( jaundice ) : biliary
obstruction by cancer causing jaundice .
2 . Abdominal pain : discomfort after

upper quadrant .
3 . Fever : obtruksi bile duct cancer can

5 . Symptoms include: loss of appetite ,

1 . Laboratory tests : mainly tests for
liver function , bilirubin , alkaline phosphatase , and obstructive jaundice
2 . Ultrasound : examination of the
gallbladder , tumor , obstruction
3 . MRCP : MRCP examination can show the
whole picture of the intrahepatic bile , location, size of tumor obstruction
4 . The CT Scan : CT scan can accurately
describe the presence or absence of bile duct dilation , location and segment
obstruction , also cancer malignancy .
5 . ERCP : ERCP can provide the whole

6 . PTC : PTC examination can clearly show
the morphology of the intrahepatic and extrahepatic biliary tree , distribution
, and the site of obstruction, and is a more accurate method for diagnosing
cholangiocarcinoma .
